Cloud Engineer - Cost Optimization

Cost Monitoring & Accountability

• Design and implement cloud cost monitoring, reporting, and alerting solutions

• Build cost allocation models using tagging strategies and account structures

• Develop dashboards and KPIs for tracking cloud costs and financial performance

• Manage AWS Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports (CUR), and third-party cost management tools

• Support vendor management and AWS billing optimization

Cost Optimization & Engineering

• Analyze cloud spending patterns and identify optimization opportunities

• Implement commitment strategies (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot Instances)

• Drive modernization initiatives (storage optimization, compute rightsizing, architectural improvements)

• Build automation to enforce cost-aware architectures and policy compliance

• Improve resource elasticity and lifecycle management

Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Develop forecasting models for cloud spend and budget planning

• Support business case development for new cloud initiatives

• Conduct cost impact analysis for architectural decisions and new services

• Provide financial insights for governance and optimization programs

• Track and report ROI of cost optimization initiatives

Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance

• Collaborate with application teams on cost optimization strategies

• Deliver training and documentation on cloud financial management best practices

• Communicate cost trends, anomalies, and recommended actions to stakeholders

• Support chargeback/showback models for cost transparency

• Align cost optimization strategy with overall cloud adoption and business goals

Yêu cầu công việc

• 4+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with 2+ years focused on cost optimization

• Strong understanding of AWS pricing models, billing mechanisms, and cost management tools

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud resource optimization

• Strong analytical skills in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis

• Experience with automation (Python, AWS Lambda) for cost management workflows

• Strong English communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting
